Abstract:
The celebrity culture has become an influential culture in Iranian society due to the dominance of the discourse of modernity, the spread of mass media, and especially the emergence and expansion of social networks.The main problem of the current research is the critical evaluation of celebrity culture from the perspective of Islam (verses and traditions).The research method in the data collection stage is documentary and in the data analysis stage, analytical-critical.The results of the research show that even though celebrity culture is not fundamentally and completely prohibited by Islam, however, celebrity culture in its common and modern forms faces many challenges from the perspective of Islam. According to the logic of Islam, criticisms such as finding the authenticity of fame and being seen, the superficialization and vulgarization of culture, the substitution of celebrity for a hero, blind imitation, rebellion and rebellion, and the increasing spread of ostentatious actions are aimed at celebrity culture.
