Abstract:
The family has always been discussed in various sciences because of its unequivocal place in social life. Psychological, historical, legal, and sociological analyzes are examples of family-based approaches in sciences. The Holy Quran, as the book of human life, has given special importance to this issue. Using a functional method, this paper reviews the status of family in the al-Mizan Commentary. In an epistemological system, al-Mizan Commentary analyzes the family based on nature. Al-Mizan introduces the formation, maintenance and continuity of the family on the axis of human nature and natural existential goals. The author views sexual capital - a key element in the issue of marriage and family formation - as a means of achieving its existential purpose. In the same way, it organizes issues such as the gender role of family members as well as the paternal role of men in the family.
