    Evaluating the Content of First-Year Secondary Social Studies Curriculum Based on Social Reconstruction Indicators

    Abstract: 
    In the contemporary world, a primary mission of educational systems is to cultivate an informed, responsible, and participatory generation capable of contributing to social reconstruction. Textbooks, as formal and structured instruments of education, play a pivotal role in transmitting values and fostering civic competencies. This study evaluates the content of first-year secondary social studies textbooks against the indicators of social reconstruction ideology. The research indicators were developed from theoretical literature, comprising five main axes - critical awareness, civic participation, social justice, cultural diversity, and futurism and development - articulated through 22 sub-indicators. Using quantitative content analysis on the three social studies textbooks for grades seven, eight, and nine (published in 2024), the findings identified 389 instances of social reconstruction indicators. The highest frequency pertained to civic participation, while the lowest frequencies were associated with indicators such as inquiry, sense of self-efficacy and competence, and combating discrimination. The study concludes that although the textbook content addresses social reconstruction in certain respects, it lacks a necessary balance among the indicators, necessitating a revision to strengthen critical and justice-oriented perspectives.

    Title :ارزیابی محتوای مطالعات اجتماعی دوره اول متوسطه براساس شاخصه‌های بازسازی اجتماعی
    Abstract: 
    در جهان معاصر، یکی از رسالت‌های اصلی نظام‌های آموزشی، تربیت نسلی آگاه، مسئول و مشارکت‌جو برای ایفای نقش در بازسازی اجتماعی است. کتاب‌های درسی به‌عنوان ابزار رسمی و ساختاریافتة آموزش، نقش مهمی در انتقال ارزش‌ها و تقویت مهارت‌های شهروندی ایفا می‌کنند. پژوهش حاضر با هدف ارزیابی محتوای کتاب‌های مطالعات اجتماعی دورة اول متوسطه بر اساس شاخصه‌های ایدئولوژی بازسازی اجتماعی صورت گرفته است. شاخصه‌های پژوهش در پنج محور اصلی شامل آگاهی انتقادی، مشارکت مدنی، عدالت اجتماعی، تنوع فرهنگی و آینده‌نگری و توسعه، و در قالب ۲۲ شاخصة فرعی با بهره‌گیری از ادبیات نظری طراحی گردید. روش پژوهش تحلیل محتوا کمی بوده و جامعة پژوهش شامل سه جلد کتاب مطالعات اجتماعی پایه‌های هفتم، هشتم و نهم (چاپ 1403) بود. یافته‌ها نشان داد که ۳۸۹ مرتبه از شاخصه‌های بازسازی اجتماعی در این کتاب‌ها شناسایی شده است. بیشترین بسامد مربوط به مشارکت مدنی اختصاص داشت و کمترین بسامد در شاخصه‌هایی چون پرسشگری، احساس لیاقت و کفایت و مقابله با تبعیض مشاهده شد. نتیجه‌گیری پژوهش آن است که اگرچه محتوای کتاب‌های مذکور از برخی جنبه‌ها به بازسازی اجتماعی توجه داشته، اما توازن لازم میان شاخصه‌ها رعایت نشده و بازنگری در جهت تقویت نگاه انتقادی و عدالت‌محور ضروری به نظر می‌رسد.
