As a strategic issue and an important factor in the stability and dynamism of societies, "population" is a multidimensional issue that has been taken into account by social thinkers. In this regard, Allameh Misbah Yazdi, a prominent social philosopher, has presented social and cultural analyses concerning population. The central question of this article is derived from the social and cultural explanations of Allameh Misbah Yazdi about population. The data collection method is "documentary and library based" and the data were analyzed descriptively and analytically. The research findings showed that Allameh Misbah considers Islam to be in favor of increasing the population, but argues that its ruling is a function of social conditions. According to Allameh Misbah, population is a multi-dimensional issue that experts from various fields should work together to deal with. He considers two reasons to be the main factors in the formation of the population challenge: first, the enemies’ conspiracy; and secondly, the expansion of convenience culture. According to him, Hawzeh’s clerics have two major duties to compensate for the past shortcomings: carrying out cultural and scientific activities and introducing the research results to the public. He stipulated that the main problems of the population are "culture" and "lack of religiosity", and religion and religious teachings should be highlighted to tackle them.
