This study aims to elucidate the semantic network of the Qur’anic phrase “Faafsuḥoo Yafsaḥillāhu Lakum” (Al-Mujadila, 11) and analyze its educational and social implications, relying on the exegetical views of both Sunni and Shi‘a scholars. The research is qualitative, employing a semantic network analysis complemented by a comparative analysis of exegetical perspectives. Data were collected through library research from primary and secondary tafsir sources. First, the etymology of fasḥ and the verse’s context were examined; then, diverse interpretations were extracted, categorized, and analyzed within an integrated conceptual network. Findings indicate that this Qur’anic directive embodies a multi-layered semantic flow centered on “mutual expansion” and structured into five main domains: 1) Ethical–jurisprudential (humility, social order), 2) Divine reward (worldly and spiritual opening), 3) Valuing knowledge (honoring scholars), 4) Social cohesion (social capital), and 5) Civilizational foundation of truth and justice (civilizational distinction, micro-level justice). These domains, in a hierarchical and goal-oriented relationship, provide an integrated model of social education that begins with individual conduct and culminates in justice-based civilization. The study concludes that fasḥ is not merely a social etiquette; it represents a foundational model in Qur’anic social engineering. With divine efficacy and the ability to integrate micro and macro levels, it demonstrates Islam’s simultaneous focus on ethical individual development and structural social formation, establishing the psychological and moral groundwork for macro-level justice.
