Its objective is to identify the analytical shortcomings of non-seminary intellectual thought and to bring greater conceptual coherence to their theoretical frameworks. To this end, a typology of Iranian intellectuals is first presented, followed by the articulation of relevant critiques based on the major themes advanced by each type. The findings indicate that the critiques directed at the first and second types (which share a critical stance toward the Revolution) include deficiencies such as insufficient attention to the rational foundations of the Revolution, ambiguity in the concept of “Iranian modernity,” presupposing religion to be non-ideological, portraying the ideology of the Revolution as eclectic, and neglecting its existential foundations. The critiques concerning the third and fourth types (which share an affinity with the Revolution) include the defensive nature of their intellectual framework, ambiguity regarding how the Islamic Revolution contributed to the decline of the West, inadequate attention to the capacities of cultural Islam, and the absence of constructive programs for engaging with modernity. این پژوهش با روش مروری روایتی، به بررسی انتقادی آرای جریان روشنفکری ایرانی دربارة انقلاب اسلامی و مدرنیته می‌پردازد. هدف آن، بیان کاستی‌های تحلیلی اندیشة روشنفکران غیرحوزوی و نزدیک کردن چارچوب‌های مفهومی ایشان است. برای دستیابی به این هدف، ابتدا گونه‌شناسی از روشنفکران ایرانی ارائه شده و سپس بر اساس مهم‌ترین مباحث مطرح‌شده از سوی هرگونه، نقدهای مرتبط طرح‌ گردیده است. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد که نقدهای وارد بر گونه‌های اول و دوم (که در نقد انقلاب اشتراک دارند) شامل نقصان‌هایی چون عدم توجه کافی به ابعاد دلیلی انقلاب، ابهام در مفهوم مدرنیتۀ ایرانی، دین را غیرایدئولوژیک پیش‌فرض گرفتن، التقاطی پنداشتن ایدئولوژی انقلاب و غفلت از بسترهای وجودی آن است. همچنین نقدهای مربوط به گونه‌های سوم و چهارم (که در همسویی با انقلاب مشترک‌اند) عبارت‌اند از: تدافعی بودن چارچوب فکری، ابهام در چگونگی تأثیر انقلاب اسلامی بر افول غرب، عدم توجه وافی به ظرفیت‌های اسلام فرهنگی و فقدان طرح‌های ایجابی در مواجهه با مدرنیته. https://marefatefarhangi.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefatefarhangi.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/5001610-1781503763.pdf
