Consciously or unconsciously, people often base their behavior on customs. The study of custom has a great role in jurisprudence studies, but nowadays the position of custom in the knowledge system of Islamic theosophy is rarely studied. Using the descriptive- interpretive method, this article tries to investigate customs from a philosophical point of view. The conceptual framework of this research is based on the view of Nasir ad-Din Tusi on determining the position of custom in comparison with practical theosophy and divine law. He uses the words "adab va rosum" to refer to custom. The result of this research shows that custom reproduces important issues both in logical studies and practical wisdom. Unlike jurisprudence (fiqh) which examines custom from a passive point of view and studies only the conditions of its validity, the philosophical view of custom is active and examines the criteria and conditions of its evolution as well. In the current situation in which the behavior patterns of societies are rapidly changing and being transferred to other societies, a philosophical study of custom is gaining increasing importance. «عرف» ازجمله عناصر اثرگذار بر رفتار فردی و اجتماعی آدمیان است و انسان ها اغلب آگاهانه یا ناآگاهانه رفتار خویش را بر پایه آن قرار می دهند. بررسی عرف در مطالعات فقهی سهم بسزایی دارد، اما امروزه به ندرت جایگاه عرف در منظومه دانش حکمت اسلامی بررسی می شود. این مقاله می کوشد با روش «توصیف و تفسیر» از منظری فلسفی به عرف نظر بیندازد. چارچوب مفهومی این تحقیق براساس دیدگاه نصیرالدین طوسی در تعیین جایگاه عرف در مقایسه با حکمت عملی و شریعت الهی استوار است. ایشان برای اشاره به عرف، از واژگان «آداب و رسوم» بهره می گیرد. نتیجه این تحقیق بیانگر آن است که عرف، هم در مطالعات منطقی و هم از زاویه حکمت عملی مسائل مهمی را بازتولید می کند. برخلاف دانش فقه که عرف را از منظری انفعالی و صرفاً شرایط حجیت آن را بررسی می نماید، نگاه فلسفی به عرف فعالانه و کنشگرانه است و ضوابط و شرایط تحولات آن را نیز می کاود. اهمیت مطالعه فلسفی عرف در شرایط کنونی که شیوه های رفتاری جوامع به سرعت در حال تحول شتابان و انتقال به جوامع دیگر است، افزون تر می شود. https://marefatefarhangi.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefatefarhangi.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/2_42.pdf
