abstract = {Through mass media and in association with some events and special incidents, the people in the west have known Islam and Islamic culture. The lack of paying little attention to these incidents, is one of the weaknesses of the studies and comments regarding Islamophobia, especially media Islamophobia. Having a vague idea about the past of the western media to Islam is the other weakness in these studies. Therefore, in order to gain an accurate understanding of representing Islam in western Media, we must pay complete attention to the historical background of presenting this topic. The current study aims at dealing with critical eras that Islam and media Islamophobia have been in the center of attention in the form of three consecutive phenomena especially the Eleventh of September incident.

abstract_fa ={شهروندان غربی عموماً، نه از مجاری مطالعاتی و پژوهشی که عمدتاً از طریق رسانه های جمعی و در ارتباط با برخی حوادث و رویدادهای خاص، با اسلام و فرهنگ و جوامع اسلامی آشنا شده اند. عدم توجه جدی به این حوادث زمینه ای، یکی از ضعف های مطالعات و اظهارنظرها در خصوص موضوع اسلام هراسی به ویژه بعد رسانه ای آن بوده است. نقطه ضعف دیگر، نامشخص بودن تاریخ توجه رسانه های غربی به اسلام و سیر تحول آن در این پژوهش هاست. ازاین رو، برای وصول به درکی صحیح از نحوه «بازنمایی اسلام» در رسانه های غرب، توجه به سیر تاریخی طرح این موضوع و تحول آن اجتناب ناپذیر به نظر می رسد. در این مقاله، با استفاده از روش توصیفی-  تحلیلی و با گردآوری اطلاعات از منابع معتبر کتابخانه ای، به مقاطع عمدتاً بحرانی توجه به اسلام و اسلام هراسی رسانه ای ناشی از آن، در قالب سه جریان پیوسته خصوصاً واقعه 11 سپتامبر 2001 اشاره شده است.},
