In order to gain an in-depth understanding of the problem of infidelity, the present qualitative study explores the social grounds of infidelity in the contemporary Iranian society. Making a thematic analysis of the views of the men and women who have, intentionally or unintentionally, experienced infidelity or betrayal, the study explores such reasons like tangible causes and internal and external controls. The interviewees acknowledge that the factors contributing to adulterous sexual infidelity include possessing some positive qualities such as attractive appearance, wealth and ability to win the affection of the opposite sex; besides some situational features like the open atmosphere for expression one's affection and regular relations with the opposite sex, ineffective factors of self-control, including religious and moral aspects and external controls such as poor performance of legal restraining factors. خیانت جنسی به عنوان یکی از مصادیق اباحی گری جنسی، از مسائل و معضلات فرهنگی جامعه ایران است که نگرانی اندیشمندان فرهنگی – اجتماعی، سیاستگذاران و مدیران را به دنبال داشته است. این پژوهش، با هدف بصیرت زایی و شناخت عمیق  مسئله خیانت، در قالب مطالعه ای کیفی به جست وجوی زمینه های اجتماعی خیانت در جامعه ایران معاصر پرداخته است. این تحقیق با تحلیل مضمونی دیدگاه های زنان و مردانی که خواسته یا ناخواسته خیانت و بی وفایی را تجربه کرده اند، به مطالعه زمینه هایی همچون سطوح عینی، کنترل های درونی و بیرونی پرداخته است. وجود برخی محمل ها و قابلیت ها همچون زیبایی ظاهری، ثروت، توانایی در جذب احساسات طرف مقابل و نیز ویژگی های موقعیتی مثل فضای باز ابراز احساسات عاطفی، ارتباط عادی با جنس مخالف در کنار ضعیف بودن زمینه های کنترل درونی، مثل درون مایه های دینی و اخلاقی و کنترل های بیرونی، مثل ضعف عملکرد عوامل بازدارنده حقوقی و قانونی از جمله زمینه های تسهیل کننده ارتباط جنسی اباحه گرانه و خیانت می باشد که افراد مورد مصاحبه بدان اذعان کرده اند. https://marefatefarhangi.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefatefarhangi.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/6_6.pdf
