Giving a brief account of the history of sociology of knowledge, the present paper seeks to expound the theoretical background of discourse theory in sociology of knowledge. This paper cites Claire Rayner’s research program entitled "sociology of knowledge approach to discourse" as an example of attempting to explicitly like these two areas and criticizes it . Claire’s look at sociology of knowledge corresponds to that of Berger and Luckmann and Michel Foucault's discourse theory. Claire’s innovation can be understood through demonstrating the relationship between discourse theory and sociology of knowledge. Two objections are raised against Claire’s work. First, she does not explain how discourses develop and become hegemonic and how hegemonic discourses are challenged. Secondly, Rayner Claire’s focus on discourse analysis makes her response to the question of social determination of knowledge highly abmigueous. در مقابلِ الگوی کلاسیک جامعه شناسی معرفت، که در آن رابطه ای علی از جامعه به معرفت وجود دارد، جامعه شناسی معرفت جدید، به فضای فرهنگ و تفسیر معنایی پرداخت و بر اساس آن، درک گفتمانی معرفت اهمیت یافت. در این مقاله، ضمن شرح تاریخچه‌ی مختصری از جامعه شناسی معرفت، زمینه‌ی نظری کاربرد نظریه‌ی گفتمان در جامعه شناسی معرفت واکاوی می شود. به عنوان نمونه ای از تلاش، برای پیوند صریح این دو حوزه برنامه‌ی تحقیقاتی راینر کلر با عنوان «رویکرد جامعه شناسی معرفت به گفتمان» معرفی و نقد می شود. نگاه کلر به جامعه شناسی معرفت، برگر و لاکمن و نظریه گفتمان میشل فوکو است. نوآوری کلر را می توان در تصریح رابطه بین نظریه گفتمان و جامعه شناسی معرفت دانست. دو انتقاد به کار کلر وارد است: اول اینکه، او توضیح نمی دهد گفتمان ها چگونه ظاهر می شوند، هژمونیک می شوند و گفتمان های هژمونیک چگونه به چالش کشیده می شوند. همچنین تمرکز راینر کلر بر تحلیل گفتمان، موجب می شود که پاسخ وی به مسئله تعین اجتماعی معرفت، در هال های از ابهام قرار گیرد. https://marefatefarhangi.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefatefarhangi.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/4_6.pdf
