If an influential media like cinema, attempts to extend in society a particular kind of sex education contrary to religion and nature which results in lack of respect between man and woman, such attempts will have a destructive effect on the audience’s opinion and behavior, which cannot easily be compensated. The present paper, delving into Quranic verses and traditions, seeks to extract the components of the decent relationships between non-mahrams (those who are not related through marriage or those who are not allowed to marry each other). Then it tries, through a semiotic analysis of the movie, to examine the way between non-mahram man and woman are presented in the movie “About Eli”, an intellectual product of Iran’s cinema during the 80's to see whether or not it is compatible with Islamic teachings. The paper shows that the movie, using social and technical codes, presents a type of relationships between man and woman which is completely incompatible with the criteria of Islamic concept of chastity. The ideological concepts of the movie are both explicit and lack decency. نوع روابط زن و مرد و مرزبندی در تعاملات این دو جنس، تأثیری تعیین کننده بر روح و روان فرد، استحکام خانواده و رشد و پیشرفت جامعه دارد. حال اگر رسانه‌ی تأثیرگذاری چون سینما، برخلاف دین و فطرت، به پایه گذاری اخلاق جنسی ویژ ه ای در جامعه مبادرت ورزد که حریم های میان زن و مرد شکسته شود، اثر مخربی بر تفکر و رفتار مخاطب خواهد گذاشت که به سادگی جبران پذیر نیست. این مقاله به دنبال آن است تا با نگاهی جامع به آیات و روایات مربوط به روابط میان دو جنس نامحرم، مؤلفه های روابط عفیفانه را استخراج کند و سپس با تحلیل نشانه شناختی فیلم سینمایی «درباره‌ی الی» که یکی از تولیدات فکری دهه‌ی هشتاد سینمای ایران است، نوع بازنمایی این فیلم از روابط زن و مرد نامحرم و میزان انطباق یا فاصله‌ی آن با آموزه های اسلامی را بررسی کند. طبق این بررسی مشخص می شود که فیلم با به کارگیری رمزهای اجتماعی و فنی، نوعی از روابط زن و مرد را بازنمایی کرده که هیچ شباهتی به ملاک های عفاف اسلامی ندارد. مفاهیم ایدئولوژیک فیلم، مفاهیمی اباحه گرانه و حیازداست. https://marefatefarhangi.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefatefarhangi.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/2005040.pdf
