Reviewing existing views about the relationships between men and women, the theory of men's authority, the theory of equality between men and women, and the theory of "difference between them", the present paper proposes the theory of "Complementarity" and sheds light on the relationship between these theories and cinema. Then it reviews the view of Islam about man's personality and extracts men's ideal characters from traditions and Quranic verses. It further reviews man's personality presented in the movie ""Tasviyeh Hesab" (Pay Back) by using John Fiske's methods of "analysis of narration" and "analysis of semiotics". The aim is to review man's personality characters from the view of Islam and their conformity with aforementioned movie. The findings indicate that man's personality characters which are presented in this movie are not only incompatible with Islamic culture but also contradict with it and the movie presents outsider models. : سینما باید با نگاه معرفت شناختی براساس خاستگاه و مبانی برگرفته از فرهنگ اسلامی به ارائه‌ی الگوی مناسب از شخصیت مرد یا زن بپردازد. این مقاله ضمن بررسی نظریات موجود درباره‌ی ارتباط مردان و زنان و نظریه‌ی حاکمیت مردان، برابری مردان و زنان، نظریه‌ی «تفاوت»، به طرح نظریه‌ی «مکمّلیت»، و ارتباط این نظریات با سینما می پردازد. سپس با بررسی شخصیت مرد در اسلام، ویژگی های مطلوب مردان را از آیات و روایات جمع آوری کرده است. در ادامه، به بررسی شخصیت مرد در فیلم سینمایی «تسویه حساب»، با روش «تحلیل روایت» و «تحلیل رمزگان» جان فیسک پرداخته شده است. هدف از این تحقیق، بررسی ویژگی های شخصیت مرد در اسلام و تطبیق آن با فیلم سینمایی مزبور است. به نظر می رسد، ویژگی هایی که در این فیلم برای شخصیت مرد بیان شده، نه تنها با فرهنگ اسلامی مطابقت ندارد، بلکه بعکس آن است و الگو های غیرخودی در آن نقش دارد. https://marefatefarhangi.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefatefarhangi.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/2001969.pdf
